Delete your SofaScroll account and data

SofaScroll is a couples and small-group video-queue app published by Ellefsen Marketing. This page explains how to delete your account and the data we store for it.
How to request deletion
You have two options.
Option 1. From inside the app (self-service)
- Open SofaScroll.
- Tap the menu (top right) → Settings & Pairing.
- Under Members, tap Unpair. Your room and its shared queue are emptied of your membership.
- If you linked a Google account (for Pro), open your phone’s Google account settings and remove SofaScroll from the connected apps list.
- Uninstall the app. Your on-device data is wiped.
This removes your client-side state and your membership in any shared room. If you were the only remaining member of a room, the room and its videos are removed by us in the next sweep.
Option 2. Email request (full account erasure)
If you want us to delete every record we hold for you, including any Pro purchase entitlement, email contact@sofascroll.com from the Google email address you linked in the app (or, if you never linked one, include the six-digit pairing code shown on the Settings & Pairing screen).

We process erasure requests within 30 days. You will receive an email back confirming the deletion.
What is deleted
- Your anonymous Firebase Auth user ID.
- The linked Google email address, if you saved one.
- Your membership in any room, your nickname, and your push-notification token.
- The video URLs you added, plus the public metadata (title, thumbnail, author) we cached for them.
- Crash logs and analytics events tied to your install ID.
- Your room document and its synced playback state, if no other member remains.
What is kept, and for how long
- Stripe purchase records. If you bought SofaScroll Pro, the payment record is retained by our payment processor Stripe and by us for 7 years to meet tax and accounting law. This record contains the purchase amount, currency, date, and the email on the receipt. It is not used for marketing.
- Aggregated, anonymous analytics counts (e.g. “total videos added in May 2026”) cannot be linked back to you after deletion and are kept indefinitely.
If a room has another member
SofaScroll rooms are shared between two or more people. If you delete your account but a partner is still in the room, we delete your membership and personal data, but the room itself and the videos other members added remain so they can keep using it. Once the last member leaves, the room is removed.
